I have color-coded entries that don't belong in my database, waiting for time when I can delete the enmasse. Since they are not connected to one another, I would be a big help to be able to delete a certain color of entries. Also, I would like to be able to pick an ancestor and delete his/her descendants in one fell swoop.

To clear everyone with a specific color
Go into Tools>Color Code People - select "Clear Color" and "People selected from a list.
OK
Click Mark Group
Select people by data fields
Use these settings - Color coding - is (color) - OK, OK, OK

The wish to pick an ancestor and delete all his descendants in one swoop will probably never happen. RootsMagic see's it to dangerous of an option and a support nightmare in the making.

Here's a link to a Knowledge Base article to achieve that same things using safer means.

Not necessarily safe enough because of some of the other losses attending to export/import and drag'n'drop. If you really want a mass delete right now, then see http://sqlitetoolsfo...com/Delete Many

Watch Webinar #47, Splitting and combining files in RootsMagic at http://www.rootsmagic.com/Webinars/

Color code all the people you want to leave out of the database the same color.

Create a new database. Drag and drop into the new database using Select from a list. Mark, everyone in the database. Unmark, Color code is [your color].

The new database will become the new main database.

You can also color code the people you want to retain in the database and use Mark, color code is [your color] and only the people you wish to keep will be transferred into the new database.

The following was overheard at a recent high society party...
"My ancestry goes all the way back to Alexander the Great," said one lady. She then turned to a second woman and asked, "How far does your family go back?"
"I don't know," was the reply. "All of our records were lost in the flood."
