Unable to pick a preferred family in families with multiple spouses.

I have some families with multiple spouses on both sides, husband and wife. I can't make it view the family I want. It always seems to select the first spouse as the default, while I would like the defaul to the be the last spouse (current one). If I see the wrong husband for example I select that person and then pick the correct husband and then the husband displays but it is with a different wife. How can I get this to work.
