When starting RM6 a message says that an update is available. Clicking on "Download and Install" starts the download process but it fails after a couple of minutes with the repeated message "Request Timeout" repeated five times.

Currently running Version 6.0.0.3

This happened before when the version 6.0.0.3 was announced as available. I waited a few days and down loaded the new version outside of RM6 when it became available on the website.

I downloaded the new upgrade before I noticed that the web page still lists it as 6.0.0.3.
It startled me a bit but the installer did say it was 6.0.0.0. == WOOPS 6.0.0.4 (My fingers don't go where I think they should.)

I always save the installer to my hard drive before installing it, with a dial up connection I do not trust the auto install.

Try downloading from here: http://www.rootsmagi...tes/RootsMagic/

We will be fixing the version number to reflect we are on 6.0.0.4 now.

I just downloaded the upgrade from RM6's message. Had no problem, and it now shows that I am running 6.0.0.4.

I always save a copy of each separate version, but always let the auto install do upgrades. So far, no problem, though I do back up the system drive each night with seven separate days' worth of data, just in case.

As of Jan 11, 2130 central, it still lists the latest upgrade as RootsMagic 6.0.0.3 Installer at:

=== edited Jan 17 2013 ==========
I didn't notice my year finger stumble until Glenn pointed it out.
I did check the RootsMagic download site yesterday and it now lists 6.0.0.4

Lighten up, Alfred. It's in the tracking system.

Unable to download/install update 6.0.0.4. From RootsMagic software program I get 'Request Timeout' after 21,201 out of 26.421KB. Tried to download from RootsMagic website, does not download at all, stays at 0%. I'm currently running version 6.0.0.3.

Issue is resolved, ended up being a Windows issue that needed to be cleared up before downloading update.

Hi Alfred, I had to borrow your "Oops" expression. I did see "central" but it just went flying by into the next century, 117 years from now! :rolleyes: :huh:
