This may be the same problem an earlier poster encountered with "Same Child Entered Twice." I just want to double-check.

In the "Descendants" view, a son, his wife and all his children are listed twice under the father. Yes, both sets (son, wife, children) have the same identification number (is that an RIN?). Do I just unlink one of the sons from the parent? Will that not delete both sets?

Sorry if this is the same question!!

Thanks!!

I like to work in the Family view, less chance of clicking on the wrong person.

Click on the duplicate son and choose "Unlink" -- "From Parents"
You get a conformation window with both instances highlighted.
-- I tried it and it unlinked BOTH instances of that son, so I had to click on one of the parents, press the "C" key to add a child,
choose to add an existing person and add the son back into the family.

(Only once this time! :D )
That usually happens only with a GEDCOM import, but you can link the same person more than once by accident.
