When I try to attach a photo to an event, i.e. my engagement picture to the engagement event, it does not save, the picture stays in the gallery but doesn't assosiate itself with the event.

I can't guess what you may be going wrong so here are the steps for attaching a photo which is ALREADY in the gallery.
Click in the photo column of the engagement event.
(you should see the Media Album for the person with the event in the field below)
Browse to the photo, click on it and click on the select button.
HAY! it doesn't work anymore! it did in RM 5.
OK, you will have to do it the hard way.
After you have selected the photo, Click on the "Tag Media" button.
In the Tag Type, choose event.
In the Person field you have to select the person. (Now, I have to select "Event" again, I shoulrd have selected the person first.
NOW, I can select WHICH event, "Engagement"
OK, OK, Select.

When you get around to it, see if you can see what messed this up.

Alfred I can't recreate this issue.
Here is what I do - Click in the photo column of the engagement event.
(you should see the Media Album for the person with the event in the field below)
Click on "Add from Gallery", click on picture and then click on the select button. Over on the right my media tag is showing.

Well I'll be jiggered.
I was going to repeat it and tell you that it doesn't work that way for me.
But. it seems to work just fine today.
I probably wasn't holding my mouth right the other day.
