Are UK Upgrades a rip off ?
US price for download about $20
UK rice for download about £19

A difference of more that $10 [Does not help UK sales]

Since there no US to UK shipping costs how is this justified
Either
US has favoured pricing
UK is being unfairly charged [To supprot US pricing ?]

Can some on explain this

I have used Version 3/4/5 - and have never had the same price as US

Now in our time of austerity maybe I just wont bother - probably not much to shout about anyway

Distributor overhead or marketing strategy to make his bundles look more attractive because the base price is then not so much lower? Just my guess. I don't know of any difference between the RootsMagic software that you download from the US versus that you download from the UK. Your choice whether you want to keep a UK distributor in business. I suspect it makes no difference to RootsMagic's bottom line but it might be happy to have a UK presence, especially if it promotes the product at UK conferences and fayres.

So don't pay it, just download from the RM site.

Customers should never be frustrated by things they cannot do.

I downloaded it from the US site - as I did for RM5 and thus paid the US price.

Worse still is the new price - £49.95 UK - thats just over $80 converted!
A new US licence is $29.95

According to the UK site the UK edition comes with "Free Resource CD & Regional Guide worth over £10". Even if that is true that means the UK price is £39.95, still about double the US price. I would question the value of the extra stuff too - certainly some of it like The General Armory of England, Scotland and Ireland (Encyclopedia of Heraldry) is freely available on the net as it is out of copyright:

It's madness!

I had an extra Resource CD with one of the previous versions, before I downloaded from US site for RM5 & 6.. It wasn't worth having!
