My third great-grandfather married his first cousin, once-removed. So, his first cousin, once removed, now becomes my third great-grandmother, however, when I highlight her name, I see: " second cousin 4 times removed." Also, her other ancestors are listed as a cousins to me, except when the common ancestors for my third great-grandparents are highlighted, then I see "Fifth great-grandfather" or "Fifth great-grandmother."

I went to "Relationship Chart" to see how it listed the first cousin, once removed to me. The chart had the first cousin once-removed as: "Third great-grandmother." If fact, the other ancestors displayed as cousins are listed " Fourth great-grandfather" or "Fourth great-grandmother."

Any suggestions how to handle this situation?

John

Under Tools>Set Relationships - Clear Relationships and then select Set Relationships. See if that makes any difference.
