Hi

I have Rootsmagic 4 and am wondering whether to upgrade to Rootsmagic 5, or buy Family Atlas, or both. I understand that mapping software is included in Rootsmagic 5, but how does it compare to Family Atlas?

I am doing a One Name Study as well as my family history, so I like the ability on Family Atlas (having watched the webinar) to show several families/name variants at once, and the time slider.

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks
Liz

Mapping has not changed from RM4 in RM5.

Family Atlas gives you many more capibilities than RootsMagic Mapping.

Google, family atlas reviews, and click on Family Atlas - Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter for some of the things you can do in Family Atlas.

RM5 Mapping is the Model T, and Family Atlas is the Cadillac.

The following was overheard at a recent high society party...
"My ancestry goes all the way back to Alexander the Great," said one lady. She then turned to a second woman and asked, "How far does your family go back?"
"I don't know," was the reply. "All of our records were lost in the flood."

Thanks Laura! I had a feeling that it might be something like that. Just wanted to check before parting with the £s.
