I would like the ability to pin a Bing (or Google, or whatever) map location, and have the associated coordinates populate the Latitude and Longitude field for a Place Details record (or a Place record, if the place does not have a pre-defined geolocation in the mapping software). Family Tree Maker 2012 has this capability, though it does not have Place Details.

There was a previous wish even for RM to accept the geo format that Google Maps produces for a "What's here" query and that would be a very simple enhancement Place & Place Details dialogues.

Still very little help forthcoming on place management despite many requests and wishes.

It's fairly easy to copy & paste the lat & long from Google Maps to the place details.

I know Don, except that you need to make unnecessary edits at present.

Some additional boxes for "Google Format" and other popular geocode copying formats would make it a lot quicker with less possibility for mistakes.
