HI,
I'm new here and hope everyone here is patient with questions.

I am new to Roots Magic but have been using PAF for a long time. With Roots Magic can I use family insight at the same time? Is there a way to have a pedigree open and use new family search at the same time? It seems everytime I do something in New family search, I see something I want to check on PAF, RM, or ancestry.com (when I'm at the famiy history center. I don't have it at home), I have to go check, then log into new family search every time.

I'm new so feel free to give me suggestions to any other group if this one is specifically for Roots magic.

Thanks.

I'm not LDS, so cannot answer your questions directly, but in the event you did not know ...RootsMagic Essentials (a slightly limited version of the full program) is FREE to download and try to use in conjunction with your other programs at home:

RootsMagic Essentials (Free) or the paid version of RootsMagic 4 will work with NFS. You will not have a need to use Family Insight. We have a couple of tutorials for using RootsMagic with NFS that will help you understand how to use it. One of the ways of accessing NFS is right off the pedigree tab.

Go to RootsMagic Webinars: http://www.rootsmagic.com/webinars
under Past Webinars look for #3 "FamilySearch Made Easy with RootsMagic"

Another webinar that gives greater detail on using NFS and temple name submissions is:
"RootsMagic and FamilySearch for Family History Centers"
http://www.rootsmagi...arch/Tutorials/

A benefit of paid version of RootsMagic is the utility program RootsMagic To-Go. You can install the RootsMagic program through the utility program onto a flash drive. This allows you to take the program anywhere and use it on a computer without first installing the program on it. We also have a webinar on using RootsMagic To-Go.

#4. RootsMagic To-Go: Running RootsMagic on a Flash Drive

After I feel you have read this response I will be moving this discussion to the New FamilySearch (NFS) forum.
